Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005

The Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005, as amended perform the following functions:

Replaces The Special Waste Regulations 1996.

  • Provides definition of Hazardous Waste. (See also The List of Wastes (England) Regulations 2005)
  • Regulates safe management of hazardous waste.
  • Sets out requirement for cradle to grave documentation of movement of hazardous waste.
  • Collectors of hazardous waste must keep thorough records and provide the Environment Agency with quarterly returns[1][2].
