Plant Description
East Kent Waste Recovery Facility employs rotary kiln technology which destroys waste at a rate of 1.5 tonnes per hour. Wastes are typically destroyed at 1050°C in the primary combustion chamber.[1]
Originally focused on the processing of material from the adjacent Discovery Park in Sandwich, Kent, Wastecare acquired the facility from Augean for around £3.4 million in early 2019 (Augean having acquired the facility from Pfizer in 2014)[2].
