There are three ways for the [[Waste Disposal Authority]] and [[Waste Collection Authority]] to work together and these are listed on the [[Waste Disposal Authority]] page. In the East Midlands of England all three types of arrangement are used.

In the East Midlands the following [[Waste Disposal Authority|Waste Disposal Authorities]] have, or are, in partnerships to procure [[treatment]] and [[disposal]] contracts, some of which are through [[PPP]]/[[PFI]] arrangements:

*[[Derbyshire County Council]] and [[Derby City Council]] [[PPP]] to procure the now mothballed [[Sinfin Lane]] Gasification facility. A decision on the future of the plant and future [[disposal]]/[[treatment]] options for [[residual waste]] is due shortly.
